NO CHILD SHOULD SUFFER THE BURDEN OF HIP DYSPLASIA AND OTHER HIP DISORDERS

We work every day with a passion to improve hip health, mobility, and quality of life in children with hip dysplasia and other hip disorders.

I’m A HIPpy is an organization dedicated to advocating for children’s hip health globally, supporting ground-breaking efforts of the HIPpy Lab at BC Children’s Hospital and University of British Columbia. Our mission is to improve hip health, mobility, and quality of life for children with Hip Dysplasia and other hip conditions. We work tirelessly to reduce the burden and improve outcomes for children who are diagnosed with a hip disorder through research, awareness, education, and innovation.

Hi, I’m HOPPER, hop along with me as I share some fun facts and resources about the importance of your baby’s hip health.

WHAT IS HIP DYSPLASIA?

Hip Dysplasia is the most common hip disorder in babies. The hip is a ball-and-socket joint and normally the ball (femoral head) sites securely in the socket (acetabulum). Hip dysplasia is when a baby’s hip joint is abnormally loose. This means the ball moves around too much in the socket, or can even be completely out of the socket (dislocated).

OUR VISION IS A WORLD FREE FROM THE BURDEN OF HIP DYSPLASIA AND OTHER HIP DISORDERS.
